Trying being a Cubs fan.

Wuss.

The title is a little misleading because I am not shutting this blog down. I tried it once but like the Cosa Nostra, it keeps pulling me back. What’s obvious is this space does not command the attention it once did. Why is that? Carson City still has stories to tell, done admirably well by AroundCarson and BikeCarson and others, and my family and friends lead exciting and interesting lives.

The truth is I am a procrastinator and I always had a dozen things on my plate during the heydays of No Safe Place. There was family stuff, work, and school (attending and/or teaching), and when I had problems deciding which chore needed attention, I retreated to writing. Things have quieted down since then and so has the urgent need for literary escape.

Social media hasn’t helped this blog, either, but some things in Life are too important or interesting for 140 characters, so I’ll keep plugging away from time to time. Maybe less words wielded more wisely will bring back my readership. It certainly couldn’t hurt.
