Nevada State Capital Building: The Walls Go Up

Posted by Boomer | Old Nevada | Saturday 6 June 2009 9:47 am

This is the sixth in the series of blog posts that present the the Nevada State Capital Building in all of its yesteryear glory. In the previous posts, you got a sense of of what the Capital Building looked like just before its deconstruction. Today, we start to rebuild what was scraped out and, as you’ll see, the sandstone walls are covered in concrete (I think). Again, no narrative because the pictures pretty much speak for themselves.

3. The Interior (before).
4. Sledgehammers.
5. Open Skies.

Please remember to credit the Nevada State Library and Archives if you use these pictures and, as always, the facts in this series are derived from my weak memory so I welcome any and all corrections and recollections of those days gone by. Coming up soon: Floors and Ceilings. (Try to hold back your excitement.)
