Happy Cake

The topic of wedded bliss has floated through the house for the last month as we anticipated and finally enjoyed the Wedding of the Century on Saturday. Rarely have I seen two people so happy and matched for each other and I’m willing to bet real money that their marriage will last beyond my days.

Kathryn Lewis over at About.com has six tips to help us old married folks find that shine that may have buffed off our union after dealing with in-laws, bills, jobs, and other nasty things that distracted us from what’s really important: our partner for life.

Date Night Works
Think of Your Spouse First
Communicate with Words
Say Thank You and Sorry
Touch Each Other
Assume Good Intentions

Now go out there and do at least one of these right now. And good luck to you.

Quick post to say y’all and this blog are not forgotten. I yakked my back so while the diet continues, the exercise is on hold. Meanwhile, work is being a challenge in a good way and my two college classes are interesting, to say the least. Believe it or not, this is what I call “relaxation.”

Longtime readers may have noticed a curious lack of political commentary. There are good reasons which I cannot get into at the moment but pundithood will return some day.

In the meantime, take care of yourselves and each other. We’re all we got.

A quick post to say hello and that we survived the day with the relations (picture above) and setting up the hall for the Big Day tomorrow. Sadly, my photo mojo disappeared in the misty January rain but the good news is I’ve a newfound talent for taking blurry pictures. I’ll post what I got later. Take care.
