After 1,290 posts, I’ve decided to park this blog by the curb and put it up on cement blocks.

This was a pretty easy decision to make though it wouldn’t appear that way on the surface. I’ve been posting since March 2005 and covered a wide range of topics, whether I was an expert of not. Y’all have treated me kindly for the most part and when you didn’t, you helped me consider alternate perspectives. That and the writing itself made this an invaluable experience. Please accept my sincere thanks.

One thing I never explained was this web site’s URL: “bbkld”. It’s the initials of my family and they are sewn deeply into the fabric of my life.

This is not the end as I’m sure in time I’ll get bitten by the blog bug again and will be polluting your fine sensibilities with Moore nonsense and dithering, but until then, let me leave you with some advice given to me by my old Pa when I was but a five-year-old tyke. It guides my actions today more than four decades later:

“Always check that can of Bud for cigarette butts before drinking from it.”

Take care and take care of each other.

Where to begin? Well, there are three major time-suckers going on these days so an overview:
